Hi, I'm August
The collector behind PokéBrewdex — chasing every Pokémon card with a beverage in its artwork.
From Coffee Shop to Coffee Cards
Before PokéBrewdex, I ran a coffee shop. Years of pulling shots and steaming milk left me with a permanent soft spot for anything coffee — so when I noticed how many Pokémon cards sneak a latte, a teacup, or a matcha whisk into their artwork, I was hooked.
What started as "huh, that Pikachu is holding a drink" turned into a full-blown quest: catalog and collect every Pokémon card featuring a beverage in its artwork — coffee, tea, matcha, and everything in between. That quest is this site.
A Decade in the Card Game
I'm not just a collector — I've been on the selling side too. I reached Level 4 seller status on TCGPlayer, the marketplace's highest tier, built on thousands of completed orders. That experience is where the pricing notes, variant breakdowns, and buying advice on this site come from.
I still sell Pokémon TCG items (separate from this collection) on TCGPlayer and eBay:
Why Beverage Cards?
Themed collecting is the best way I know to enjoy this hobby. Instead of chasing whatever's expensive this month, I get to hunt for something nobody else is tracking — and every binder page tells a story. A Sinistea here, a café-scene trainer there, a Poltchageist whisking matcha in the corner of an illustration.
Beverage art is also just quietly everywhere in the Pokémon TCG once you start looking. Cataloging it — every printing, every variant, every set — became the most fun spreadsheet problem I've ever had. The result is the collection you can browse here.
