Why This Card is in the BrewDex

Sitting in the Scene

The shop wall behind Dhelmise is stocked with teaware: a cream teapot with a curved spout on the lower left shelf, an ornate footed teapot with a domed lid and long spout at the centre of the display, a face-decorated mug on the upper left shelf, and two stemmed glasses among the crockery.

What the Artwork Shows

Dhelmise fills the centre of a harbourside curio shop, its teal seaweed tendrils wound through a pink and yellow ship's wheel with a spiral hub and a single slit-pupilled eye. Brown anchor flukes rise at the left and lower right, and rope coils around a dock piling. The shop wall behind is shelved floor to ceiling: a cream teapot at far left, an ornate footed teapot with a domed lid at centre, two stemmed glasses, a face-decorated mug, plates, fluted moulds, lidded jars, a wall clock and two small landscape paintings. Four ghosts are tucked into the clutter. Sinistcha and Poltchageist sit among the crockery on the middle shelf, a Banette perches on the counter beside a tall spouted pot, and a Shuppet watches through the arched window at the upper right. Below the counter the scene gives way to seaweed, bubbles and dock pilings.
